D's Reptiles
Greetings,
I am Rick Dunnam and I am a small hobby reptile breeder.

I have cared for many animals over my life time and have always enjoyed working with animals. I, like many kids in middle TN, had grew up catching snakes and lizards when I was little but was never allowed to keep them.  When I was a teenager I got a green iguana for a birth day present.  I was so excited!
In fact, I was so excited that I put her leash on her and took her to school under my jacket.  Looking back it is funny but the school did not think so once I was discovered.  Side note: I made it until the middle of the afternoon before someone ratted me out.  Anyways, I took care of her and she grew and I gave her to a family friend when I went into the military.

Well, time went by and we fast forward to a ways down the road, to when my oldest son was around 7.  He wanted a snake.  Well, I did not have much experience with snakes and Janine, my wife, was not real keen on the idea so I told him we would settle on a lizard.  So we researched lizards and found that the one of, if not the, best lizards to start with and to keep in general were Bearded Dragons.  So, we got a couple Beardies and quickly ended up with a Leopard Gecko.  Fast forward a little ways and Ricky still wanted a snake so Janine and I decided we would allow it in a way.  I would get a snake and keep it at my office and once or twice a week he would come in and help feed and clean and get the fun of a pet without it being at the house and with me being able to learn as we went.  That went well for a while but I got hooked so I was wanting to expand my collection and get into breeding some cool morphs.  So we decided to bring Eve home and one thing lead to another and now... D's Reptiles.

Now my oldest two children, Madison and Ricky,  both have their own breeding programs and we have expanded at this point to over 20 snakes.  Right now we work mainly with Ball Pythons but are currently expanding and within the next season we should be producing Leopard Geckos, Bearded Dragons, Corn Snakes, Carpet Pythons, and  few variety of Kingsnakes.

I, as of right now, have no intention of growing to be a main competitor in the reptile trade or truly make an income off of the animals.  It is just a hobby that will hopefully pay for itself and allow me and the kids to learn and grow together in many ways.

Thanks for stopping by and feel free to drop me a line or give me a call anytime.

God Bless,
Rick
